We've already talked some about storytelling. An NPR report on storytellig suggests that part of what draws us to stories is that we analyze our own lives in the stories we hear. For me, the combination of music and a strong story can be a powerful work.

The women, actually British, wear crinolines and loose outer coats of the 1860s. I love my Kindle. 

Each morning it goes with me to Starbucks, where I try to find some time to read the day’s New York Times on it. It also goes with me during the day so I can steal reading time any chance I can get.

On the back of the Carte de Visite of two men from the Civil War Period is the name of the photographer and a 2 cent green Washington stamp. [Why am I reminded of Of Mice and Men?]
